FOCUSING ON EXCEPTIONAL CLIENT OUTCOMES 

Iglu Central Park & Broadway Common Areas

This project delivered a comprehensive refresh of the existing common areas at two premium student accommodation sites: Iglu Central Park and Iglu Broadway, both located in the vibrant Central Park precinct in Chippendale.

The scope included:

  • Design development and planning approvals
  • Selective demolition
  • Modern lobby upgrades
  • Internal fit-outs and enhancements to shared spaces

A major challenge was maintaining full building operations throughout the works, with 200–700 students residing on-site at any given time. To minimise disruption, all noisy activities, material deliveries, and major works were carefully scheduled out of hours (evenings, nights, and weekends) in close coordination with Iglu management to align with resident needs and building operations.

Matraville House Renovation

Completed an internal renovation of a 1960s brick house in Matraville over a six-week period. The scope included managing demolition of walls, site investigations, documentation, carpentry, hydraulic and electrical services, and finishing works, delivering a high-quality residential upgrade.

Iglu Broadway Studio Refurbishment

  • Project Duration: 9 weeks

Refurbishment of 230 studio apartments and shared corridors across 11 levels in two buildings at Iglu Broadway over a nine-week accelerated program. Works included demolition, new internal walls, vinyl flooring, joinery, hydraulic and electrical services, painting, rope access works to voids, and new fixtures/appliances. The project was delivered in a live environment, ensuring students retained access to their rooms throughout.

Pyrmont Fish Markets

Under an ongoing agreement with Infrastructure NSW, QX Projects supports the handover stage of the new Fish Markets facility. Daily defect inspections covering concrete structures, façade, services, waterproofing, internal fit out, and external works. We collaborate with stakeholders to deliver timely, cost-effective, and durable rectification solutions.

Northern Rivers Farm Facility

28,000m² farm facility, comprising 4,000m² of administrative buildings and a 21,000m² greenhouse structure. QX Projects supported the client from early conception, managing the Development Application, Concept Design Development, consultant engagement, and authorities’ approvals through to construction commencement.

Forensic Hospital, Long Bay Jail

Refurbished patient common area facilities at the Forensic Hospital, Long Bay Jail, over a three-month period. Works included new wall and ceiling upgrades, joinery, electrical and hydraulic services, and furniture, fixtures, and equipment (FFE). The project involved early risk consultation with NSW Health staff and Honeywell Facilities Management, completed within an operational Justice Health facility with supervised, unrestrained patients adjacent to the work zone.

Freshwater Unit, Long Bay Jail

Completed upgrade works to the Freshwater Ward at Long Bay Jail, encompassing security enhancements, electrical system upgrades, and new external egress openings. The six-month project was executed while ensuring uninterrupted hospital and jail operations. Extensive consultation with NSW Health stakeholders and Honeywell Facilities Management reduced disruptions to patients and staff to operationally suitable levels.
